WE NEED YOU – Liturgical Minister Spotlight!

Welcome back! That is a phrase being heard increasingly as we try to get back to the things we used to do before the pandemic began in 2020. Here at Saint Michael Poplar Springs Catholic Church we are pleased to see the return of many who have been away. Another great part of this “welcome” is the welcoming of new parishioners who have found themselves drawn to the parish after their own pandemic journey. This is great news for our growing parish family and for our new pastor!

All growing families understand the changes that take place when numbers increase. We are now feeling the growth spurt in our weekend Masses where we can see the need for more liturgical ministers – lay people who are willing to give their time and talent to serve God by serving the parish community.

In the bulletin and on our social media (@stmichael1879), we will make our appeal one ministry at a time. Each liturgical ministry (a service role within the Mass) will be described giving you the qualifications needed along with the trainng time and the preparation required for each Mass. Please take a few moments to read this each week: Is the ministry being described something you would like to try? Can you think of someone you know who could fill this role well?

By our baptism into the family of God we are made for service – as the old Dameans’ song, “Service” said – “to care for each other.” Please ponder how you might join with others to help care for the Saint Michael Poplar Springs family of God.
