Catechetical Sunday is on Sunday, September 19, 2021

The theme is “Say the Word and My Soul Shall Be Healed.”

Just as Jesus stayed and bonded with his disciples, so catechists are called to turn the RE classroom into a small community centered on Christ. Many varied personal gifts serve this effort. Can you see yourself serving in this way? Will you pray that God provides the catechists our youths most need? For catechists:

Catechist Handbook 2019-2020

The Archdiocese of Baltimore has published standards and indicators for Elementary Grades, to establish curriculum guidelines for faith formation in the parish in a document called “Bringing Good News”. Most of these standards are met simply by covering the Pflaum Gospel Weeklies, but for the rest, please review the document below and scroll ahead to the grade you teach. If the indicator is covered in the Pflaum catechism for that year, there will be page numbers listed by the indicator. You are required by the archdiocese to cover the (very few) other indicators in addition to the Pflaum catechism.
